TASER Device Employed on Knife Wielding Man

The 37-year-old man initially entered the lobby where he approached staff to ask about his girlfriend whom he believed was in police custody. After police told him that his girlfriend was not in custody, he got angry and subsequently pulled out two kitchen knives where he was seen waving them about.

When officers asked him to drop the knives, he refused and as a result they utilized a TASER device on him. Once police had subdued him, he was taken to hospital where he was placed on a mental evaluation hold.

Because of the actions of the knife wielding man, it was important for officers to act on the situation in a quick and decisive manner. This they were able to do with the assistance from a self defense stunning device which many officers now employ for their safety and the safety of others.

Since the introduction of the self defense tools which have been implemented in numerous police departments across the United States, the amount of injuries incurred by officers and suspects, that was common with the use of traditional firearms, has significantly fallen.

This is essentially a good thing as it means that officers no longer have to worry about the potential risks involved when they employ a TASER device in order to apprehend an unruly suspect who is a threat to others.
