Naked Tourist Apprehended by TASER Device

It’s not everyday that officers are faced with a naked person that they are need to apprehend, but in Florida this is exactly what happened to officers while on duty. After Monroe County deputies received reports of a naked tourist running onto US Route 1, they were quick to arrive on scene.

When they arrived and orders were given to the man to stop he refused and as a result the self defense device was employed on him. However, this did not stop him and took a further two more hits from the TASER device before officers could effectively apprehend the man.

Once under police custody, the 43-year-old man explained that he was made of steel, but soon admitted that he had previously been drinking and taking LSD prior to his rush onto the busy highway.

When it comes to employing a stunning device on individuals who have taken drugs or are under the influence of alcohol it often requires several hits before a person can successfully be apprehended. The reason this is is because a person’s senses are not as acute if they have not taken drugs or alcohol.

Because they can’t feel things as effectively as others they aren’t effected by the stun that these tools deliver. That’s not to say that these tools are any less ideal to have in order to boost your safety. Far from it as these devices are regularly called upon by those within the police department as well as members of the public.
