Police: Don't Let Your Home Become Violated by Burglars

As a result of the number and the proximity of these home burglaries between January 6 and 12, police believe them to be linked. While an additional address was targeted in Highbridge, it is not believed to be linked with the others.

Of course, with any house burglary, various items of sentimental value were stolen, including, jewelry, and because of the activity of burglars, police are urging residents to be on high alert.

It  is more than likely that these homes were targeted because they are mostly bungalows situated off the main roads and were dark at the time. Not only that, but they were easily accessed as well.

Homeowners, however, can implement simple measures that will defend themselves from becoming targets of would-be burglars. Timer switches are ideal as these give the impression that someone is home. Additionally, making sure that windows are secure and to report anything out of the ordinary will also go a long way to increasing your home’s protection.

Of course, while it is always a good idea to implement simple measures to prevent your home from becoming a target of burglaries, it is also worthwhile to think about purchasing a self defense device such as a stun gun for maximum safety.
