TASER Devices to Protect Charles and Camilla

Even though Charles and Camilla were warned of the student protests in London last year over tuition fees, they still decided to drive through the area where protests were happening. As a result, protesters confronted the vehicle carrying them to a Royal Variety Show, which saw their car window being smashed in.

While officers had firearms on hand, they were not used. Now, if you have a sudden urge to poke the Duchess of Cornwall, while you won’t be shot with a lethal weapon, you do face the risk of being targeted by a TASER device instead.

Royal protection officers found themselves in an embarrassing position last year when protesters in London attacked the car. As a result, a window was broken, Camilla was poked with a stick and chanting from the protesters could be heard loud and clear. All of which saw officers powerless to act.

The simple reason being they can only employ their firearms to protect the family from violence which poses a real and immediate risk to life.

Of course, that could all change with royal protection police being provided with self defense TASER devices instead. Non-lethal and with a range of 21 feet, these units are extremely effective at preventing someone from committing a violent act.

When it comes to protecting public figures it is important that officers in charge of protecting them have a device that they can relay on to do the job effectively. As a traditional firearm can’t be used in every situation it necessary for them to have a device that will still produce effective results without harming anyone involved.

Used widely around the world to protect members of the public it only seems natural that TASER devices are also employed to protect public figures.

With this idea on the table for people to consider, it could be that sooner or later members of the Royal family could also have stunning tools as part of their protective equipment while out attending events in and around London.
