Recent Burglaries Suspected of Being Related

Officers in Berwick, Maine are searching for a suspect or suspects that were responsible for three burglaries that recently took place in the Messenger Bridge area.

All three of the burglaries took place within the last two weeks which saw burglars stealing jewelry and money from the properties involved.

The first burglary took place on January 27, which saw thieves stealing more than $1,000 in jewelry and money. It was not known how the burglars managed to enter the home.

The second burglary occurred on February 3, where thieves stole $100 in money and an unknown amount in jewelry. The second burglary saw the front door being forced open.

The third burglary took place on February 3 where $50 was taken along with an unknown amount of jewelry. Here the burglars gained forceful entry by breaking a window.

Officers in the area believe that the incidents are connected because of the time of the day each occurred, the items that went missing and the closeness of the crimes themselves.

The number of home burglaries is unfortunately on the rise. While the country struggles to deal with job employment issues, thieves are now seen to be turning their attention to homes in a bid to grab themselves pricey items that they either have luck selling on or to keep for their own use.
