The Night Safety Shuttle Driver

On Friday and Saturday nights around 400 university students board the safety shuttle bus to various locations around campus from the early evening hours to early in the morning. A dedicated job that sees shuttle drivers going back and forth across campus, it is the ideal way of maintaining students safety during the night time hours.

One particular shuttle bus driver who recently retired from the Army took up the post for one specific reason in mind: to help students in need. According to him there are students everywhere, which is why he doesn’t stop driving regardless of the time.

In one particular case he pulled up alongside a woman on crutches to find out if she needed a ride. However, while she insisted she was okay and was in fact making her way back to her car, the shuttle driver kept an eye on her just to make sure she got where she needed to go.

Not only that, but regardless of the location, the shuttle driver was more than happy to drop the students off, so intent was he to make sure that they arrived where they needed to be safely.

Of course, while the safety shuttle driver may be making sure students are safe and have a ride when they need it, that’s not always the case for every university. Because of this, students need to think of another way to ensure their safety if they are on campus after dark with no form of transport back to their accommodation.
