TASER Devices Could Have Prevented Shooting
As a result of the incident police are expressing their views that a TASER device would have been effective in the circumstances. While every situation does dictate its own range of force, police have access to batons and pepper spray and often employ a traditional firearm as a last resort.
An Australian Federal Police inquiry will determine whether or not there will soon be TASER devices within police departments as an added device for police protection. However, a full investigation will need to take place before any final decisions will be made.
If the self defense devices are employed within the police department it will mean that officers will be capable of employing a non-lethal device on individuals who may be threatening them.
The use of a traditional firearm has the potential to cause deadly harm, but the use of a stunning device merely subdues an individual for a limited time. This then allows officers to apprehend their suspects without any further harming coming to those involved.
In many cases officers will also experience the shock from the TASER device itself. This is to ensure that they know what it feels like when they are targeting someone and to prevent any misuse of the tool from occurring.
Powerful, effective, easy to use that delivers maximum results this is one tool that many are now relying on in order to increase their safety without having to resort to brute force.
