North Yorkshire Police Employ TASER to Restrain Suspect

North Yorkshire police in England found themselves having to employ a TASER device on a man after they were called out to a domestic disturbance.

According to police when they were called to the home address in the early hours of the morning they found a 22-year-old man who was threatening them in a violent manner.

As a result, police utilized a TASER device on the young man in order to restrain him. He was soon arrested for obstructing a police officer who was trying to do his job.

Statistics released show that the self defense device had been drawn but not fired six times last year between the months of May and August. North Yorkshire police have confirmed that there are often 20 officers on duty at any one time who are trained to employ the non-lethal tools.

Nowadays, it’s not uncommon to see officers carrying around with them TASER weapons as part of their protective equipment. In recent years they have grown in popularity as more police departments turn their attention to the tools that are known to produce maximum results.

Without these devices officers would still be relying on other types of weapons and brute force. However, with these cases the results may often produce drastic and dire results. This is not what happens when a stunning tool has been employed.

Furthermore, in most cases the employment of a TASER is not necessarily required to deter a would-be criminal. As mentioned above simply drawing the tool from its holster is often enough to stop anyone from continuing with their actions.

Of course, if you find that you do need to employ your self defense device for your protection you can rest assured that when you employ it you won’t be harming the person target. Instead you will simply be incapacitating them for a temporary time which will give you enough time to make your escape from further harm.
