More Officers to Receive TASER Devices After Approved Purchase
Currently, Middletown has 18 of the self defense devices in operation, but will soon be acquiring 30 more. Middletown officers will also receive electric cartridge systems as well as holsters as part of their police protective equipment.
The proposal was approved at a recent regular meeting. Officers receiving the TASER device will be expected to first take part in the necessary training within the year.
Nowadays, there are more police departments across the United States that are employing self defense devices as a form of weaponry for their officers. Not only is it safe for them, but it is also the perfect device to employ when it comes to apprehending a violent suspect in a limited time frame.
It’s no longer a case of utilizing brute force in order to prevent someone from harming someone else. Now all an officer or a member of the public is required to do is employ their TASER device if they want to stop themselves from becoming a victim.
Simply knowing that you have a self defense device on hand will greatly boost a person’s confidence in themselves and regardless of where they are they know that they can rely on something that will instantly put a stop to someone who is intent on harming them.
