Guns on Campus for Self Defense Safety?
However, there are others that believe such an implementation would only put students in harm’s way.
When it comes to North Carolina guns are not allowed on college campuses except when it regards security officers and police. But others think that such a policy would only be limited to responsible adults and would essentially make campuses less of a safe environment.
However, public officials in North Carolina are thinking about introducing gun laws so that students have a means of better protecting themselves. Not only that, but many think that legislators should follow what states are doing and think about providing students with more options for them to increase their safety.
Of course, there are views being issued that banning guns on college campuses goes against the Second Amendment. But while this may be the case, how would it be possible to determine who is actually a law-abiding adult who will be responsible for carrying a concealed firearm on college campus?
Anyone who believes that firearms should be permitted on campus in order to boost student safety is clearly mislead. After all, when there are other devices that can be put into place for student safety that present no risk to those involved why do firearms need to be considered?
For instance, instead of allowing students to carry a firearm that should think about employing a stun gun. As a non-lethal firearm this makes the perfect self defense device particularly for students who may want a device that increases their safety without having to put others at risk.
