Police Employ TASER Device on Man Wielding Knife in Bar Fight

Buenz police were responding to an incident to assist an ambulance after a report came in that a male had hurt his foot. However, while at the scene they learnt that a 25-year-old was armed with a knife in a bar.

Before the situation got out of control officers took the armed man into police custody. While this was going on the 25-year-old’s brother then decided to interfere which saw him attacking an officer.

Police then employed a TASER device on the 24-year-old after he attempted to attack the officer for a second time. Even though a friend had tried to hold back the hostile man he managed to break free in order to hit out at the officer for a second time.

The employment of these devices enables police to effectively gain control of a situation that proves threatening to either themselves or other members of the public. While the use of mind and mouth is the preferred method for many officers over other types of weapons simply knowing that they have a TASER device as part of their protective equipment means that they can employ a non-lethal device without harming someone in the process.

The 53-year-old father who was also at the scene got involved in the situation by kicking an officer after he expressed his dislike that his sons were being apprehended.

The story involving the knife which the 25-year-old had in his possession came about that he was using it to cut off an armband while another story circulating was that the knife was taken out during a verbal argument that took place.

Whatever the reasons involved officers were capable of ending a situation in a quick amount of time which enabled them to ensure the safety of others involved.

These days the employment of a self defense device is key for police work as it means that they have the use of a range of devices on hand for their use depending on what is involved in the circumstances.
