Officers Employ Stun Gun On Man Who Bites Officers
The 31-year-old suspect was also checked out before being transferred to jail in Daytona Beach. As a result of his actions he faces one count for resisting arrest with violence and two counts of battery on an officer.
According to police the man in question was attempting to hide from officers. When they tried to bring him into police custody he fought back and bit them both. Once additional officers were called to the scene they assisted in apprehending the 31-year-old by employing a self defense stun gun on him.
The simple reason being that they provide the required protection and defense to officers and members of the public against those who are intent on causing harm. Not only that, but by allowing officers the ability to have these as part of their personal equipment means that harm to them is eliminated as there is no longer a requirement for brute force to be employed in order to successfully apprehend a suspect.
