Residents' Safety Is Not Guaranteed by The Northern Territory Government

In the remote area of Yuendumu in Alice Springs, Australia, over 100 people refused to board buses that would take them back to their community claiming that they feared for their safety in what is a troubled community.

While the Northern Territory Government has said that it can’t guarantee the safety of the residents it has stressed that it is time for them to go back home after they stayed at the Alice Springs showgrounds last night.

The chief minister is reported as saying that he can’t resolve the problems between the families even though everything has been done to tackle the conflict. According to him, at the end of the day a resolution will only be reached once both sides sit down together to take responsibility and resolve the matters at hand.

That, however, doesn’t seem as if it will happen anytime soon. As a result of this, and because many fear for their safety, they should consider pepper spray to avoid any type of attack happening to them.
