Prom Night Safety on the Agenda for Parents of Horizon Students
Earlier this week, the northeast Phoenix school’s PTA hosted an informational evening on Prom Night Safety which centered around how parents can ensure that their child has a safe prom night.
The informational evening also highlighted the possibility of after-prom night parties where alcohol and drugs may play a part which could lead students to taking part in inappropriate sexual behavior.
One way that students safety will be kept in check is with the help from police and school security officials who will be on hand at the prom making sure that no student takes alcohol or drugs during the night.
Anyone testing positive for drugs will be picked up by their parents while police will be making sure that the high school students don’t stay out pass their curfew. The prom will finish at 11.30 p.m., while curfew for 16- and 17-year-olds is midnight.
In order to make sure that the night starts and finishes well measures need to be put into place to ensure the safety of the students.
Of course, another way to ensure student safety during their prom night is to make sure that they have pepper spray on hand. Compact and lightweight, this self defense device is the ideal tool to have on hand when it comes to increasing a person’s safety.
