Residents on a Mission to Prevent Violence
Operation SNUG brought its message to the Cataract City along with a late-night event. Residents of Niagara Falls are on a mission to stop the unnecessary violence that is occurring in their communities.
The rally was to show the people in Niagara Falls that they need to stand up for something when it comes to the safety of others, their families and themselves. While they know that one event won’t simply change everything overnight, the simple fact that people have come together depicts a strong unity within the community.
As a result of recent gun violence in the Falls, residents have agreed that something needs to be done in order to change the course it is currently spiralling down.
Operation SNUG, which spells guns backwards, along with the Niagara Falls Housing Authority have helped to prepare a BBQ on Pierce Avenue. It is hoped that by building strong relationships with the young residents this will aid at bringing about a positive change within the area.
Many families within the community have experienced gun violence with family members dying as a result and believe this is a step forward to achieving a positive environment for the residents of Niagara Falls.
The bottom line that SNUG leaders say is for the young people to realize that conflicts can be resolved in a peaceful manner instead of resorting to guns.
Safe and easy to use, this is one self defense device that has become extremely popular over the years because of its non-lethal properties. It is also very effective when it comes to apprehending a suspect, thus ensuring your safety at all times.
