Unless Arrest is Made Home Burglaries May Continue Says Winnetka Police Chief

Winnetka’s police chief has explained to residents that a number of home burglaries may continue if an arrest is not made.

The police chief released a statement urging residents to be alert to anything they think is suspicious in the area. He also urged them to be extra vigilant when it came to their home security.

Just last week, four home burglaries were reported in the village; however, they have occurred in different parts of the village. A fifth burglary was also reported, but the burglar didn’t manage to steal any valuables at the time simply because the homeowner was at home during the incident.

The resident was not harmed, but saw the person run out the door.

In situations when a home burglary takes place in the area it is necessary for homeowners to reconsider the safety measures they have in place. This should be a time when they think about how they can improve on their safety and how they can better protect themselves.
