Knife Man is Apprehended by Police Pepper Spray
According to reports, it is thought that the 20-year-old suspect pulled the knife on four local men where he threatened them after an argument. Shortly after the incident the same man is alleged to have pulled the blade out in front of people who were queueing outside the nightclub and headbutted an Irishman during an unprovoked attack.
As a result of his actions the individual was charged with the possession of an offensive weapon and assault. Police were forced to employ their self defense spray canister in order to prevent him from causing further harm to either himself or those around him.
While the man claims he was carrying the knife for self defense, a spokeswoman for the Queenstown police added that no one should be found carrying such a weapon on them for a night out in Queenstown.
One witness at the scene said that it was a decent-size knife that had the potential to do serious harm.
When it comes to situations such as this which involve a number of people it is important that the necessary steps are taken in order to gain control over a volatile incident. In this case the officers deemed it right to employ their self defense pepper spray which worked quickly by apprehending the suspect in question.
Not only is this the safest route available for all those involved, but the utilization of pepper spray is also easy and effective as well, which is essentially a good thing for all those concerned.
