91-Year-Old Modern Day Batman Told to Stay at Home

A 91-year-old war veteran who served in a raiding unit during World War II and who considered himself the ideal candidate to tackling criminals in New Zealand in the town of Waipawa, put himself forward to become a member of the patrol within his community.

The main objectives of the organization is to patrol the streets at night and to report any activity they consider may be suspicious to the police. They are, essentially, the eyes and ears.

However, somewhat similar to Batman, the 91-year-old war veteran began his work with the community patrol alongside a Robin-like partner. Unfortunately, the tough as nails veteran decided to part ways as his partner kept falling asleep on duty.

But, as a result of this, the head of the community patrol organization has explained to the modern-day Batman that he must put his crime fighting career on hold because he can’t work alone. In order to get himself back on the rota, he is first required to find himself a new partner.

Proud of what he’s doing within his community, the 91-year-old stresses the success of his crime fighting role armed with a mobile phone and spotlight, which enables him to keep police informed on anything that he seems going on.
