Fleeing Suspect is Apprehended by Police TASER Device
The Salinas Police department received a call involving an armed robbery that saw a man with a knife. At the scene of the incident witnesses were able to give a description of the suspect who was seen jumping on his motorcycle fleeing from the area.
When an officer spotted the suspect, an officer attempted to pull the man over; however, when he refused to listen to police orders two officers were then prompted to chase the suspect.
Unfortunately for the motorcyclist, the pursuit came to an end due to mechanical problems which saw the motorcycle coming to a stop, conveniently, located near the Salinas police station.
In order to prevent the man from escaping on foot an officer employed a TASER device on the suspect before taking him the short distance to the station.
Once the man was in police custody officers were able to recover the knife in question and the money taken during the robbery.
For officers the ownership of a TASER device means that they no longer need to employ brute force in order to get the results they need. This, essentially, means that more officers will be able to spend more of their time on the streets tackling street crime instead of recovering from injuries sustained while on duty.
Both of these options never provided the necessary protection required, which often saw many people suffering as a result.
Thankfully, though, the introduction of tools such as TASER devices means that people can have the protection they require at all times knowing that what they are employing for their protection is non-lethal and safe to use.
