Recent sex attacks in Gloucester are making clubbers think more about their safety after the attacks occurred in the city center.

Police have arrested a 37-year-old man they believe to be connected to an alleged rape that took place in the early hours of the morning on Eastgate Street. According to reports, a 23-year-old woman reported to police that she was the victim of a rape attack in an alleyway. As a result of these attacks law enforcement are encouraging women to come forward.

Officers believe that a man approached a number of women during the early hours of the morning. One 21-year-old night clubber who goes clubbing every weekend said that she wouldn’t want to be on her own at night in the city center, while others are now thinking more about who they’re going with and where they are going for what is to many, innocent fun.

However, despite these recent sex attacks, the leader of Gloucester City Council has explained that Gloucester is generally a safe place to visit at night, but it’s important for people to take the necessary steps to prevent any harm coming to them.

As of right now, police are taking the time to speak to and identify a number of women, aged from their teens to their twenties, who the man in question is thought to have spoken to before the attack occurred.

Last October, a schoolgirl was abducted and sexually assaulted by a 44-year-old man, which left the girl mentally scarred. Because of this, more needs to be done in order to stop women from falling prey to predators who believe they are vulnerable.
