Police Stun Gun Employed on Threatening Student with Knife
The incident took place in a crowded cafeteria where the 18-year-old was seen to snap. According to police, the high school student pulled out his knife and started to wave it violently in the face of another senior whom he had a long standing disagreement with.
As a result, it wasn’t long before a crowd formed around the students as the student continued to wave the knife threatening those around him including staff members.
Shortly after the incident began campus police arrived on the scene and quickly issued orders for the 18-year-old to drop the knife and to get on the ground. Instead of complying with police orders, the student ran in the opposite direction still holding on to the knife.
He was eventually cut off and soon cornered by a number of administrators who ordered him to drop the knife. According to police, when they had him cornered the student appeared to be looking for a way of escape. Because of this, a police stun gun was employed on him in order to get him under control and to prevent any further incident from occurring.
Even though police were able to gain control of the situation in a short space of time, the incident has left students at the school shaken.
