National Night Out for Community Planned by Police Chief
The police chief has explained that he will be working on highlighting National Night Out Against Crime, which is an event that has grown in popularity since 1984 when it first came into shape by the National Association of Town Watch.
The main objective of the event is to illustrate what can be done in order to prevent crime in communities. When it comes to Waverly, while the police chief wants to show any would-be criminals that the residents of Waverly will be fighting crime, he also wants to improve the strength of the citizens too.
Furthermore, it is hoped that such a program will also help to strengthen the relationship between the community and police officers.
Planned for the first Tuesday of August, it is yet to be determined how the event will be shaped, even though previous activities have taken the form of safety fairs, parades, rallies, block parties and neighborhood walks.
In order for residents to maintain their safety within their communities they should think about what steps they can put into place that will ensure they are always protected. One measure that many people are turning to is through the utilization of a stun gun.
