Neighbors Band Together to Prevent Home Burglaries

Neighbors from South Carolina in Lee County have become tired of being targeted in their homes that they have banded together to help prevent a number of burglaries.

According to the sheriff of Lee County an adult male and four teenagers are the source of at least five home burglaries within the area.

Neighbors initially considered areas in Lee County as quiet, the ideal place to raise a family; however, after a string of burglaries there are many families who no longer think this. Many even feel that their homes are not the same once they realize that someone has broken into their homes.

Over two weeks at least five thefts and break-ins were reported. As a result, it didn’t take long for families living in the rural area to finally get fed up with being victimized. Whereas before neighbors tended to mind their own business, after the string of burglaries the neighborhood has begun to be more inquisitive as to the comings and goings of the people they see.

And when it comes to maintaining what is rightfully yours being curious plays a vital role. Not only that, but by standing up and taking a stand against the criminals neighborhoods are working with police departments to help prevent and solve crimes.

Of course, while it is important to keep a watchful eye on what is happening where you live it is also a good idea to think about ways in which you can increase your safety. While not everyone will find their home burglarized, simply knowing you have a form of self defense on hand will greatly increase your confidence should you be confronted with a burglar.
