Rash of Vehicle, Home Burglaries in Green City
The detective who commenced the discussions explained that one adult and three juveniles in connection with some of the burglaries had in fact been arrested. While the investigation is still on-going, the number of burglaries occurring is happening at an alarming rate.
In order to tackle this rise in crime, extra patrols in marked and unmarked vehicles will be taking place at certain times and in certain locations, which have been targeted by burglaries.
According to police, the majority of the break-ins happened because vehicles or homes were left unlocked providing easy access for those looking for a way in to steal valuables. Items stolen from vehicles included laptops, navigational systems, purses and wallets.
Before striking criminals will first take the time to check for any unlocked doors of homes. In some cases, they will even strike during the night to get their hands on expensive items.
Of course, in order for homeowners to maintain their protection and what is rightfully theirs they need to make sure that the necessary measures are in place. They should make sure that they have a good security alarm system, which will act as a deterrent to any would-be criminal.
Not only that, but they should make sure that their windows and doors are locked even if they are only leaving the house for a few minutes. In this day and age, it doesn’t take long for a burglar to strike when an opportunity presents itself.
Another measure that residents are turning to when it comes to their safety are self defense devices such as a long distance stun gun. It’s no longer an uncommon thing to find many members of the public equipped with these tools as a way of increasing their safety in a non-lethal manner.
Furthermore, by doing so, while they are increasing their safety, they won’t be harming the person they are targeting. In fact, the person targeted will only be apprehended temporarily, providing enough time for them to call police for assistance in arresting their burglar.
