Police Employ Pepper Spray on Naked Burglar
The man, from Frederick, Md., was charged with one count each of malicious destruction of property, attempted third-degree burglary and disorderly conduct.
Police were initially called to Pennsylvania and Maugans avenues after they received a report that a man was running through the streets naked.
At one point police were told the man was naked; however, when they caught up with him he was wearing boxer shorts. According to police reports, the man is alleged to have stopped traffic and subsequently tried to hold a vehicle before eventually fleeing on foot.
After fleeing he then returned to the original home where he had been told to leave by the resident. Maryland State Police troopers who soon joined the chase employed the self defense spray canister on the man after he became confrontational when they stopped him at the back door of the home in question.
Nowadays, it’s important for homeowners to think more about their safety, particularly with the rise in the number of home burglaries.
No one wants to be a victim of a home burglary, and by taking the necessary measures to begin with you can stop one from happening. As a result of this, there are more people turning their attention towards pepper spray.
It is, after all, the perfect self defense canister to have on hand. Not only that, but it is also safe to use and easy to carry around, regardless of where you are.
One spray from the device will quickly put a stop to any would-be burglar who decides to target your home. A household is considered a person’s safe haven, so it should only be natural for them to want to protect what is rightfully theirs without worrying about the repercussions of doing so.
Knowing they have a non-lethal spray canister on hand will give them the confidence to know that while they are defending themselves from harm, they are not harming their burglar by doing so.
