Home Burglary Sees One Armed Burglar Arrested

A Bonita Springs father’s three children were at home when armed burglars decided to break into their home. However, with the help from the concerned father and police assistance, one of the armed suspects was taken into police custody.

The incident occurred at 11 a.m., when a 17-year-old girl was at home with her two younger siblings. Hearing a knock on the door, they soon realized that it wasn’t the father and quickly called him after the two armed men had gained entry.

Dealing with a situation like this is never easy and despite the 17-year-old understandably being terrified, she phoned 911, while her father left work, which was a five minute journey, to rush home to them.

Stopping the car in the driveway, one of the armed men got out of the car and pointed a gun at his head. If the father didn’t move his car, then he was going to shoot. As a result, and deciding it was better to comply with the armed man’s demands he left a Mercedes and minivan go.

It wasn’t long, however, before deputies were able to catch up with the minivan on US-41, where a 22-year-old male was taken into police custody. He was charged with burglary by gaining entry through doggy doors.

According to police, the men at the house got into another car; however this then crashed about a mile and a half away. The three men were able to run into the woods, escaping police K9s and sheriff’s helicopters.

While it may have calmed down a great deal at the home of the concerned father, it didn’t take much for him to get emotional over the whole situation. Possessions can easily be replaced, but family and loved ones can’t.

In situations such as these, it’s always a good idea to have a form of defense on hand that you can rely on. Long distance stun guns would play the ideal role as the person employing the device for increased protection doesn’t have to worry about coming into contact with their target.

This then increases a person’s safety in a situation that may otherwise be dangerous to all those involved.

Home burglaries are becoming an increasing topic in our society, but simply knowing you have the means on hand to defend yourself in a moment’s notice will give any homeowner the confidence they need.
