Covert Police Capture Burglary Gang
The five men, who were known as one of Cambridge’s most prolific home burglars, exchanged electrical products and bikes in order to finance their addiction to Class A drugs.
However, they were eventually caught when they started to do business with two undercover officers who were running a shop called Wardy’s Wheels in Cambridge, England.
Cambridge Crown court heard how the thieves sold stolen goods worth around £17,500 between November 2009 and the next June. Unfortunately, the true amount is more than likely going to be higher as many of the products stolen could not be traced and were not valued.
When questioned the trio admitted to one count of burglary in addition to conspiracy to covert criminal property. The court was also told that the 39-year-old involved in the crimes undertook his first crime of burglary at the age of 10. Since then he has served a number of spells in jail for the break-in crimes he committed.
According to evidence given to the court, the men would down half-a-dozen cans of Special Brew lager, six litres of cider, a range of alcopops, heroin, in addition to 20 rocks of cocaine.
A home burglary that occurred in February of last year, saw the men involved steal an iPod, a laptop computer, camera and jewelry from student housing at Robinson College.
These days, it’s no longer a case of simply leaving your front door open or your windows without the fear of someone walking into your home to steal from you. Nowadays, extra measures have to be taken so that homeowners can remain confident that what is theirs remains so.
While there are measures that can be applied outside the home it is also useful to have something reliable inside as well. One area that should be looked into are the sales in self defense items. It’s more than likely that perspective buyers may also have the opportunity to find cheap stun guns for sale. With the economy the way that it is, it is a good idea to take advantage of the sales while they last.
