Police Praised for Employing TASER on Woman Threatening to Kill

Three Wellington officers have received praise after they utilized a TASER device on a woman who was threatening to kill another.

Officers in New Zealand were originally called to a building after they received a call that one woman was threatening to kill another woman by holding a knife at her throat.

Before employing the self defense tool, officers attempted to talk to the woman; however, when this had no effect, they then employed the device, which prevented her from further harming the other woman.

As a result of the quick thinking from the officers involved they were able to avoid any serious harm coming to the victim.

Since the incident a 33-year-old woman has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of an offensive weapon and threatening to kill.

Nowadays, it’s not uncommon for police departments to provide their officers with an array of self defense devices. As a result of this, police are turning their attention to these tools when they are confronted by hostile individuals instead of relying on traditional firearms.
