Good Samaritan Stops Hit and Run Driver with Pepper Spray

With the assistance from a good Samaritan in Tennessee, Knoxville Police were able to arrest a man after he crashed into another car before fleeing the scene.

According to police the hit and run driver crashed his pick up into a female driver’s car, but instead of stopping to make sure she was okay, he decided to flee.

The good Samaritan who witnessed the crash first made sure that the female driver was okay before following the fleeing driver down the road. The good Samaritan explained that he wanted to know why the driver was running away. As a result, one thing subsequently led to another.

According to the pursuing driver the suspect drove as far as he was able to on the three tires he was driving on before his engine blew. When the man got out of the car, the two men confronted each other.

In order to stop the man from fleeing once again, the Knoxville Samaritan employed his pepper spray on the man. With the man on the ground, the good Samaritan was able to hold the fleeing driver down until police arrived on the scene.

In this day and age it’s important for members of the public to have a form of defense on hand that they can rely on should they need it. When it comes to other people’s protection, knowing you have a self defense on hand to employ for their benefit will make it easier to help others out.

In this situation the fact that a fellow driver was able to bring a fleeing driver into police custody with the assistance from the spray canister shows how beneficial such a device can be.

Instead of employing brute force on the man, which could have resulted in more injuries, the spray canister simply did all the work at apprehending the man by a mere press of a button.

It’s not everyday that such a device can be called to assist in a situation that requires swift action, but when it is the results far outweigh those of anything else. After all, simply being able to do something good for another citizen proves how useful pepper spray really is.
