TASER Gun Saves Man's Life

Police in Rochester, N.Y. found themselves called to a scene that saw a man armed with a bag of guns. At the end of the incident police had employed a TASER gun, which helped to save the man from further harm. After police had apprehended him he was then arrested.

Even though the situation ended with the best results all around, according to Rochester Police, it could have ended completely differently.

When police were called to respond to the situation, they encountered a man who pulled a sawed-off shotgun from the bag of guns he was holding. At that moment, police decided that force was required in order to prevent the man from harming himself and those around him.

Instead of employing a lethal firearm in such a situation, Rochester Police decided to utilize a less lethal form of defense. Labelled a potentially deadly encounter the officers decided that a self defense device in the form of a TASER gun was the best approach for all those involved.

It was also the safest route to take in such a situation.

Nowadays, it’s not uncommon for police to have an array of self defense tools on their person. In most cases though, police are turning their attention to non-lethal forms of defense when they are confronted by a hostile individual instead of a traditional firearm.

Since the introduction of the devices into police departments there has been a noticeable decline in the amount of injuries incurred to either officers or their suspects. As a result, this then cuts out the middle man of having to first attend the hospital for injuries that may have been the result of different weapons used.

It also means that officers are much more able to effectively carry out their job as they won’t be spending too much time thinking about the repercussions of using a weapon to apprehend a suspect in a timely manner.

In this instance, police were able to save a man’s life with the assistance from the TASER gun. This certainly wouldn’t have been the case if another weapon choice was chosen. It also shows how effective a self defense device is. Even though it may produce the stopping power required in such an instance, it doesn’t come with the risk of harm unlike other devices available to the police.

This is why it’s such a popular alternative when it comes to increasing a person’s safety.
