Chatsworth Experiences Rise in Violent Crime

Whereas crime was down in most areas, violence experienced a rise in the number of incidents reported. In the LAPD Devonshire Division area there was a rise in the amount of murders and aggravated assaults reported.

A Northridge carpet store owner was recently shot at his workplace, a man was shot to death after breaking into the home of a marijuana grower and a husband drowned after trying to murder his wife.

These incidents, however, were described as isolated incidents. Last June no murders were reported in the Devonshire area.

July so far appears to have less burglaries and vehicle thefts compared to June, which saw a decrease from 11 to 12 and three to nine, respectively.

Of course, while some areas may have experienced fewer criminal reports than other areas that shouldn’t in any way make people less complacent about their safety. With aggravated assault and murder on the rise, safety measures should be taken into account that will protect the lives of innocent individuals.

One way of doing this in a safe and effective manner is to purchase stun batons for increased safety. These self defense devices are the ideal tools to have on hand as they are non-lethal to employ.
