Man Arrested After Committing 40 Home Burglaries

Police have announced that they have arrested a 20-year-old male who they believe is responsible for at least 40 home burglaries in the Columbia region.

The Richland County Sheriff along with the Forest Acres Police Department and the Columbia Police Department, explained that the suspect in question has been accused of targeting homes located in numerous Midlands communities.

It was in April that police were able to establish a lead, which eventually saw them pulling the man over and arresting him. At the time of his arrest he had initially been out on a bond for a previous burglary that he had committed.

The 20-year-old has been accused of stealing electronic devices, money, TV’s, and jewelry. Committing the burglaries during the day and nighttime, he targeted neighborhoods including those of Woodfield Park, Earlwood Park, Denny Terrace, Heathwood, Byrneswood, Eau Claire, and regions of Forest Acres as well.

Police have been able to recover a small quantity of the property that was stolen from the suspect.
