Teenager Prevents Home Burglary

A Halsey Drive teenager prevented a home burglary from taking place when he stumbled upon two burglars in his family’s kitchen. After escape the two were later arrested by police during a foot chase.

The two individuals, one an adult and the second a juvenile were brought into police custody in order for police to complete their investigations. According to police, additional arrests are expected to take place.

On the morning of the incident a 16-year-old called 911, after he was woken up by a loud noise located on the first floor. When the teenager went downstairs he discovered that the rear door had been smashed in and two unknown individuals were in the kitchen. Upon seeing the teenager the intruders fled the scene.

Shortly after phoning the police the intruders were picked up without incident.

Due to the swift decisive action from the teenager, he was able to prevent his family’s home from becoming the latest victim of burglary. Nowadays, the figures for burglary are on the rise as more people attempt to get their hands on items that they can sell on for quick cash.

While no one wants their home to be a victim of burglary it is unfortunately a prevalent factor in our lives that we have to deal with. As a result, homeowners should think of measures that they can put into place that will enable them to maintain their safety.
