Teenager Left Big Clue After Burglarizing Home
While the teenager was helping himself to the homeowners possessions, they returned. In a bid to escape detection the teenager tried to hide in a closet, hoping to leave the home before he was noticed. However, according to the report issued, the homeowner managed to chase the teenager who fell to the ground, hurting his knees.
During the incident the teenager left behind his backpack, which contained his Miami-Dade County library card. Because of the useful information at hand police were able to track the youth down. When questioned he also confessed to four other home burglaries.
These days, it’s not just grown adults that are going out and targeting homes to make quick money, teenagers are also doing it. As the rise of burglary continues to be a prevalent factor in our lives we, as homeowners, need to take the necessary steps to make sure that our homes don’t become targeted.
Installing an alarm system is the ideal first step to take, as it provides a visible deterrent to would-be criminals prowling in your area. Not only that, but if someone does decide to target your home despite the fact that you have an alarm system installed they will quickly alert police and fellow neighbors, which will no doubt scare them off.
However, while outside protection is especially important to your home’s defense, inside protection is as well. Knowing where to purchase a self defense device that can be left inside can be difficult if you are not sure where to look.
One device that is being relied upon is pepper spray. Due to its non-lethal components and the fact that it’s easy to carry around, homeowners now have access to a form of defense that has been designed to protect them when the moment arises.
As your home protects you from the outside elements, it is just as important that you take the time to protect it from those who wish to gain unlawful entry to steal what you have.
