Footballer’s Home Burglared While Playing Champions League Game

A 32-year-old male and 23-year-old male involved in the home burglary of an Arsenal and England footballer were sentenced to three years and nine months.

As the parents and brother of the footballer were watching their son play Arsenal’s 2-1 win against Barcelona their home in Herfordshire was the victim of a burglary. However, the two men involved denied stealing £40,000 worth of property.

The court heard how when the family returned home they found that the house had been ransacked. As a result, the family were hugely upset to find that their family home had been violated. The court were also told how the two men had broken in where they stole jewelry, latptop computers and watches.

They also found the keys to the VW Golf where they then drove off with it. However, because the car didn’t have enough petrol it only travelled 10 miles. Security cameras captured the men filling the car up at petrol station.

The following morning they were captured again on security cameras filling the car up with petrol from the same place.

Nowadays, it seems as though no home is safe from thieves who want to make quick money at the advantage of others. As a result, it is important that homeowners put into place security measures that will prevent them from being targeted.
