TASER Employed on Neighbor After Dispute
According to the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office, police responded to a dispute between neighbors around 8.15 p.m. Wednesday night.
After an investigation, one of the deputies present attempted to handcuff one of the men, who was a 45-year-old male. However, he resisted arrest by pushing the deputy away from him and hitting him in the face. The man is also alleged to have knocked the deputy’s flashlight and handcuffs out of his hands.
The deputy then struck the man with his baton, which didn’t do anything to subdue him. Before running back into his home, the man tried to take the baton away from the deputy. At this point, extra officers and deputies along with the California Highway Patrol turned up in order to assist with the arrest.
It wasn’t long before a family member convinced the man to leave his house, but when deputies attempted to arrest him again, he resisted. It was then that a TASER gun was employed on the man where he was taken away into police custody without further incident.
The deputy involved in the scuffle received a small laceration and minor scratches to his nose.
Due to the assistance from the police self defense device, deputies were able to bring the situation back under control in a relatively quick amount of time. Nowadays, it’s not uncommon to find police with a wide range of self defense tools at their disposal so that they can apprehend individuals without prolonging the situation they are in.
Not only that, but with the assistance from such tools they reduce the likelihood the harm that is common with other devices. If those involved receive injuries they will first be required to visit a hospital for treatment before they can either be taken into police custody or, in an officer’s case, back on the streets to tackle crime.
However, with the help from a TASER gun they can avoid any long visits to the hospital or time off to recover, as no harm will be experienced from these self defense devices.
They have been designed to protect those who use them and to protect those that they are used on.
