Man Attacked by Bear Knows How Salmon Feel
In a news report the man went on to say that he now knows how salmon feel when bears are feeding.
The incident took place when the victim let his dog back inside early Monday morning. Once he opened the door the bear ran inside injuring himself and his wife. His wife sustained bite and scratch marks, but was later released from hospital after receiving treatment.
When the bear entered the family home it jumped on the man and then attacked his wife when she tried to help. As a result of her actions, she was then knocked to the ground and dragged on to the home’s patio, which prompted her husband to re-enter the fight with the bear.
Due to his actions, the bear decided to re-focus its attention on the man and started to tear his head apart. However, a doctor examining the husband explained that he was lucky he was able to fight off the bear due to his 6-foot-6, 300 pound size frame.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission believe the bear was a female who had felt that her cubs were threatened by the dog, which prompted her to attack.
In a situation such as this, as unlikely as it may seem, homeowners should still think about the measures that they can put into place that will ensure their safety when they need it the most. When it comes to bears the best self defense device that many people are turning their attention to is bear spray.
While no one wants to become a victim of a bear attack, it is better to have a form of defense on hand and to know that you have something close by should you need it, compared to having nothing and finding yourself faced with an aggressive bear who feels you are threatening them in some way.
Simply being one step ahead means that you are more than likely to escape from a potentially dangerous situation. The only way you can achieve such results is if protective measures have been put into place to begin with and that can only start with bear spray, a device that more people are turning their attention to when it comes to boosting their self defense.
