Teenagers Arrested After Involvement in String of Home Burglaries
After an arrest warrant was issued, a 17-year-old male turned himself in. He was charged with five counts of burglary of a habitation, one count of attempted burglary and one count of theft of a firearm.
A 16-year-old was arrested at Copperas Cove High School and taken to a juvenile detention center. He was charged with six counts of burglary, one count of attempted burglary and one count of theft of a firearm.
A search of the teenagers’ homes led the police to discover around $5,000 worth of stolen property, which was subsequently returned to its rightful owners.
Most of the burglaries took place in the same neighborhood near Live Oak Street and Mountain Avenue. Not only were the teenagers involved in the thefts, but they also damaged the victim’s homes.
The homeowners that were targeted explained that they feel helpless and as a result they are putting up extra measures to ensure that they don’t become victims again. A good security alarm is one step to ensure that your home remains guarded as it will record those who attempt to gain entry to your property.
Any evidence you capture can then be used to catch the criminals who make a living by stealing from others. Another measure that many homeowners are implementing inside their home is through mace spray.
Nowadays, it’s not uncommon to find more homeowners turning their attention to this device as it is non-lethal and will instantly target a number of people at once, thus producing the timely results required at a moment’s notice. No one should feel victimized in their own homes, but unfortunately in today’s society it seems that there is an increase in the amount of crime being reported.
As a result of this, homeowners are putting measures in place to ensure that they can avoid these situations. By being one step ahead, you can ensure that you are ready for any scenario and that the measures you have in place are enough to protect you and your family and what is rightfully yours.
