Man Who Resists Arrests is Apprehended by Police TASER Gun
According to Allentown police, they were called out at 5.18 a.m. When they arrived at the scene they found the 20-year-old in question who gave them a fake name. When an officer began to pat down the suspect he began to resist and attempted to flee the scene.
As a result of his actions, a police self defense device was then employed on the man who continued to fight with the officer. When he failed to comply with police orders, the suspect was then stunned a second time and taken away without further incident.
In this situation the use of the police device proved extremely beneficial in apprehending the man when he tried to escape. Not only that, but while there may have been a brief tussle between the officer and the 20-year-old, without the use of the police TASER gun any injuries sustained may have been much worse.
Nowadays, it’s not uncommon for police to have access to a wide range of self defense devices on them. Since the introduction of these tools there are more police departments which are realizing the benefits that they provide for officers on the job.
Compared to a firearm, a stunning weapon can still achieve the same results of apprehending a suspect, but because they are non-lethal they don’t harm the person targeted. This is why law enforcement are turning their attention to these as the ideal way of subduing a person, but without the risk of harm in the process.
It’s not everyday that a device as powerful as a TASER gun is produced that delivers maximum safety in mind. Of course, now that it is here, the injuries otherwise sustained by police and their targets have declined.
Knowing that police have access to these tools means that they can do their jobs more effectively without having to worrying about the repercussions that may otherwise be produced if another weapon choice was used. Cutting out the harm means that more police can spend their time on the streets tackling crime instead of taking time off work to recover. After all, less police on the streets means more time for criminals to target those they believe are vulnerable and a less secure society as a whole.
