Protesters Angry Over Turkey's Earthquake Sprayed with Pepper Spray

Riot police employed pepper spray into a crowd of angry protesters in Turkey in light of the lack of the state’s relief efforts after the second earthquake in eastern Turkey killed at least 12 people in the city of Van.

Rescue teams have been searching from survivors after the 5.7 magnitude tremor struck on Wednesday night where over 600 people have died following a major quake on October 23.

Protesters, though, are not happy with the state’s relief efforts and believe more can be done to help those in need.

As thousands of families continue to live in makeshift tents with temperatures falling to freezing as the winter months creep forward, the government has announced that there are enough tents for anyone who requires them.

Around 200 protesters called for the resignation of the governor in a rally located to the two city hotels that collapsed during the latest quake.

In this situation, riot police deemed it necessary to employ their pepper spray into the crowd of rioters. The use of this device is the most effective when it comes to tackling a crowd at once. Not only that, but as the spray canister is safe to use it won’t harm the people it has been targeted on, but allows the police or those using it to gain control of a situation.
