Bath Police Employ TASER to Apprehend Man
Bath police employed a TASER device on a 25-year-old male after he was alleged to have threatened an officer following an early-morning fight on Thursday on Dike Road.
As a result of the incident, the 25-year-old, was charged with disorderly conduct.
Police were called to the scene at 4:42 a.m. Thursday to reports of a family fight. When they arrived on the scene they found two people outside arguing.
As one Bath Police officer approached, the 25-year-old man said to the officer that he would kill him if he made another step toward them.
Described as a large man he then reached behind his back, at which stage the officer became concerned. Due to the seriousness of the situation, he then deemed it necessary to employ the police TASER device on the suspect.
In this day and age, it is now a common sight to see police with an array of self defense devices on hand. After all, when they are called to a situation they are not aware of what they will face until they arrive. Because of this, it’s important that they have the tools available on hand to help them out when they need it the most.
The use of this self defense far outweighs the use of other weapons that may produce lethal results. Since the introduction of the tools there have been police departments turning to their use as well as members of the public.
Safe and easy to use, they provide the means of protection that many people are after without having to worry about the repercussions that other devices would produce.
It’s not everyday that such a device that has been designed with safety in mind becomes available, but when it does it clearly shows how effective it is when it comes to providing the necessary defense.
With the use of such a device on hand a person’s confidence in themselves will only increase as they know that what they are using for their safety will provide the necessary results they are after. For police it also means that the use of brute force is no longer required, nor is it necessary to come into contact with a suspect until the individual in question needs to be taken away into police custody.
