Grizzly Bear Encounters May become the Norm in Idaho
Grizzly bear encounters in Island Park have increased this year, along the Snake River located close to the boundary with Yellowstone National Park.
As a result of this, there are many who are no longer taking their chances when it comes to bear encounters. In Idaho, there are many who now make sure that they carry bear spray with them as a means of better protecting themselves from a possible bear attack.
These days, it seems that more people are turning their attention to this self defense device because of the effectiveness that it can produce with the use of one spray. Not only that, but because the spray canister is safe to use, hikers and runners who rely on this device are more likely to use it.
Simply knowing that this tool is available means that those who reside in an area that homes bears can rest assured that they have a unit on hand that will protect them when they need it the most.
In most cases, bears will only attack if they feel threatened or they believe that their cubs are threatened by the presence of humans. It is in this instance that the use of bear spray can prove extremely effective when it comes to stopping an attacking bear from advancing.
Unlike the use of a firearm, the self defense spray canister won’t harm the bear targeted, but will simply deter them from attacking. If a firearm is used, the user runs the risk of harming the bear, which in turn could make the bear more angry, putting the person in further danger.
While no one wants to harm a bear, the use of bear spray means that both the person using it for their safety and the bear targeted will be safe. After all, the creation of the spray canister is so that everyone concerned, whether human or animal, is safe compared to if a firearm was employed instead.
Knowing that such a device has been created means that those who require the extra protective measures in their life can rely upon this device to do the trick when it comes to preventing a bear or another aggressive animal from attacking them.
