Police Employ TASER on Man After Domestic Assault
Bethlehem police used a TASER on a South Side man after he pushed an officer and tried to escape when police were called to a domestic dispute on Friday.
Police arrived on the scene where they soon discovered that the man in question was the subject of an outstanding warrant for a probation violation.
According to police records, the man in question resisted commands and attempts to have handcuffs placed on him and tried to escape the hallway. Even though he was stopped by another officer he continued to fight with police.
As a result of his actions, a police TASER was used on him where he was then taken away into police custody.
Nowadays, the use of this self defense device by police is common knowledge. After all, the results of the device have proved extremely effective when it comes to stopping individuals who are intent on harming others or who are trying to escape police.
Because of the wide use of the units there are individuals who are turning their attention to them for added protection in their lives. When it comes to a device that has been designed with safety in mind there is no weapon on the market that can produce the same results that a TASER device can.
Even though it is a powerful device to use, it is also non-lethal. This means that even though it packs a punch on the person targeted, it won’t harm them, unlike other weapon choices available.
As police departments are now providing the tools to its officers this gives police another device that they can use depending on the situation at hand. No officer is completely aware of what they will encounter when they arrive at a scene, which means that it’s important for them to have a number of tools readily available at hand.
Simply knowing that one such device they have is a powerful stunning weapon means that they can feel confident that whatever comes their way they will have the means of protecting themselves and others concerned without any harm coming to them that would otherwise be reported with other tools.
