Residents Warned About Increase in Home Burglaries
As a result, neighbors are taking the warnings seriously. One of the victims explained that the thieves had broken into her home the other day. According to police, there have been at least 10 reported home burglaries in the last two weeks.
In many of the situations the thieves broke into homes through the back by breaking out windows, or, as was the case in one incident, climbing through a doggie door. Once inside they then stole electronics and jewelry.
Since the reportings, police have stepped up patrols in the area and are asking residents to remain alert as to what is going on in their communities.
In a bid to deter thieves homeowners are turning to the types of measures that will help, such as extra lighting and making sure that their home is secure if they need to leave.
Another way for homeowners to maintain their protection, particularly if they should be at home during a burglary, is to purchase a stun baton. This self defense device has become popular for homeowners to purchase as it is safe and easy to use.
Once targeted the person will instantly be subdued putting a stop to their thieving actions. No homeowner wants to be a victim of a home burglary, but unfortunately it is something that is taking place on a regular basis.
Not only that, but with Christmas just around the corner homeowners should be extra cautious when it comes to their properties. After all, the last thing they would want is to have their Christmas spoiled because someone decided that their home was easy to break into.
Furthermore, by having a form of defense on hand homeowners can rest assured that if they should find themselves intruded upon they will be able to defend themselves whilst knowing that what they are using won’t harm the person targeted.
