Police Employ TASER on Aggressive Man

Norwalk police in Connecticut apprehended an aggressive man with the use of a TASER after they thought that he was reaching for a weapon.

According to a police report, they were called at 8.46 a.m. by a person who had received a text message from a friend explaining that she wanted the man in question out of her home. When police arrived on the scene they discovered the man outside, next to his car. The car had two children inside while he was yelling at people.Police observed that he seemed to be angry and was acting in an aggressive manner towards the lady.

Police suspected that he might be intoxicated or impaired based on his behavior and delayed responses. When officers said that they wanted to pat him down for his own safety, he refused and moved against the building.

They then told the suspect that they wanted to handcuff him, even though he wasn’t being arrested, but he simply pulled his hands away with great force. This then led to police wrestling with the man, at which point they told him not to resist.

As the man tried to get away from police he reached towards his car door which was open. Police believed that he was reaching for a weapon and subsequently prevented him from doing so by utilizing a TASER gun on him.

According to the complainant, the suspect had been acting paranoid and hallucinating and wanted him out of her home.

In this situation the use of the police self defense device stopped the situation from getting out of control and stopped any harm coming to the man in question.
