Stun Gun Used to Control Domestic Abuse Suspect

Bloomington police employed a self defense stun gun and a flashlight on a man Tuesday after it was reported that he had restrained and battered a woman.

Police responded to a domestic violence call where they found the man in question arguing with a woman. According to a police report, police saw the man grab the woman and force her against a van as she tried to walk away.

In order to prevent any harm coming to the woman police quickly intervened by employing the self defense stunning device and flashlight. Once on the ground the suspect continued to fight with police, refusing to cooperate.

During the incident the two officers involved suffered facial, chin and knee injuries. The report stated that the suspect was intoxicated.
