Police Employ TASER to Catch Burglar

The 19-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with felony burglary around 6 a.m. Friday after he fled from the scene and hid from police.

Before the suspect was arrested, an officer employed the self defense device after the thief refused to comply with police orders.

Lately police have been very busy with catching thieves involved in home burglaries and had a busy morning Friday after four burglaries were reported between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. According to residents’ reports they were awoken by a male suspect who they discovered in their bedroom going through a nightstand.

The suspect was chased from the home and a description of the thief was given to the police. At the time of the burglary there were four children sleeping in the home. During the incident a bottle of prescription pills were taken.

A few blocks from this residence, police responded to another burglary, in which the suspect fled the house after the homeowner awoke to find him crawling across the bedroom floor. Two other home burglaries were also reported in the area.

Thankfully, during the investigation police were able to catch the thief after he was caught in the act of stealing from a home. With the utilization of the self defense TASER device police were capable of putting a stop to his actions, preventing him from stealing from others.
