Man Charged in Connection with Christmas Home Burglary
The suspect who pleaded not guilty to three felony counts was charged with grand theft of personal property, forgery and first-degree burglary.
The man in question is reported to have broken into a home early Christmas morning before fleeing with several items, one of which included an iPad. He was later arrested that day after the owner of the iPad explained to deputies that his iPad was “pinging” from a home nearby.
The iPad’s “Find Me” software was used to locate the suspect. He is also expected to face charges in another burglary in San Diego County.
With the use of the software of the iPad, police were able to locate the stolen items from the thief’s property where they were able to return them to their rightful owner. In this day and age, home burglaries are unfortunately becoming a factor in our lives that we have to deal with as best as we can.
Thankfully, there are devices that make this easier than it would otherwise be without them. Namely, homeowners can install good security alarm systems, which will prevent thieves from breaking into their homes. Motion detector lights also play an important role, particularly at night.
Another measure that homeowners should think about is pepper spray. This self defense spray canister has become a popular item for homeowners to have on hand as it is a compact device that is easy and, more importantly, safe to use.
When it comes to the protection of homeowners they need to know that they can rely upon a device at a moment’s notice that won’t harm the person targeted. This they can do with the spray canister as it has been designed to deliver maximum safety at the press of a button.
Without the use of pepper spray, homeowners would either have no protection on hand to help them out when they needed it the most or they would have to rely upon brute force. The use of brute force though runs the risk of harming those involved. Instead, the self defense device will give homeowners the assurance that what they are using for their protection won’t deliver any harmful results, but will effectively prevent thieves from getting away with stolen goods.
