Police Investigate Home Burglaries Where Shots Were Fired

The Cass County Sheriff’s office is looking into two home burglaries. During one, gun shots were fired.Deputies were called to a home at 10:30 a.m. yesterday where police found that someone had broken into the home while the resident was there.

While the homeowner didn’t confront the burglar, nothing was taken. However, police say that for some reason the thief decided to fire a small caliber handgun inside.

Shortly afterwards, deputies were called to another home after a thief managed to flee the house with electronics, cash and jewelry. Police believe that both incidents are related.
