Man is Apprehended with a TASER Gun at Airport after Refusing a Screening Check
The man in question arrived on an inbound flight at the airport, but after leaving the airport secure area he told security officials that he needed to get back inside to get his belongings. When Transportation Security Administration explained that he would have to be screened again, he became argumentative, picked up his bag and ran.
He was then chased by a sheriff’s deputy and subsequently apprehended by the self defense device. After he was apprehended he was then booked into Sacramento County Jail where he was held on misdemeanor charges of suspicion of obstructing a police officer and unlawfully accessing the airport’s secure area.
In this day and age, with the threat of terrorism still at the forefront of people’s minds, it’s important for officials at the airport to know that they have a device that they can rely upon that will help them out in subduing a suspect without harming them in the process.
Why the man thought that he could simply go back into the airport’s secure area without being rescanned is not known, but the authorities were right to act the way that they did in order to prevent a possible threat from taking place.
Simply knowing that law enforcement have access to these tools means that they can prevent a situation from getting out of control in a timely manner. Not only that, but it gives individuals the confidence to know that they have an alternative device on hand that is safe and easy to use.
It’s not every day that a TASER gun becomes available that has been designed with providing maximum safety to a person, but simply knowing there is means that regardless of who you are – as long as you meet the requirements for such a purchase to take place – you can rest assured that you have the means of defending yourself from harm.
Without these devices people would either still be relying on brute force or would have nothing available to defend themselves with. Thankfully, that is no longer the case. Data has also shown that with the use of them, harm inflicted on to officers and the individuals they are targeting has drastically reduced. This would not be the case if a traditional firearm was used instead.
